Safety and Security:The Danswer Summer Camp priorities the safety, security, wellbeing and enjoyment for each participant. The Danswer Camp staff are all qualified teachers or specialists in their own style of dance and are chosen to bring out the best in your child through confidence building. They are fully experienced in dealing with children of all ages and abilities. All members of staff hold current CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checks. To ensure each child is taught to the best of the teachers ability we operate at a ratio of 1 teacher to every 12 children. Any incidents will be documented in the incident log book and each parent/guardian will be notified as necessary. The parent/guardian will then need to sign the log book when collecting the child to confirm they have been advised.Registration and collection procedure:It is essential that each child is registered upon arrival and then signed out once picked up. We will have one designated pick up and drop off point. It isa important that we are notified if the child is being picked up by someone other than the person who dropped them off or if they need to leave before the Camp is due to finish.Clothing and Equipment:Children must wear comfortable clothing, trainers/plimp soles are essential and loosefitting clothing advisable. A change of clothes in case of any accidents is recommended.Food and Drink:Children are required to bring their own nutritional, wholesome packed lunch. We recommended that fizzy drinks are not included. We will provide the children with snacks at breaks throughout the day eg: fruit, biscuits and crisps with water and squash available at all times. In the medical information please ensure any food or drink allergies or any possible concerns with the snacks being available to your child are clearly noted.Behaviour Policy:Our staff are trained to treat each individual fairly. We aim to provide a safe, challenging, fun learning environment for each child, continually encouraging positive attitudes, promoting and rewarding good behaviour.Inappropriate behaviour procedure:1) Initially the group instructor will try to resolve the situation.2) If the child is still behaving inappropriately, the instructor will remove the child fromthe group. Having a witness present. We will always endeavour to resolve thematter satisfactorily so the child can re-enter the group without causing trouble.3) If necessary the childs parent/guardian will be called, in some cases to arrange collectingthe child.Collection/Lost Child Policy:At least one adult teacher will remain with the child until they are collected. We will not allow the child to be collected by an unauthorised person without permission. If after two hours the child has not been collected and we have been unable to contact you, we will call the local social services department who will make arrangements for a social worker to collect the chid. We have procedures if a child is lost on the camp so please contact us if you would like a copy of his policy.Sick Child Policy:Every child attending the Camps are free of any sickness/illness 48 hours prior to the firstCamp date. If you would like to discuss a childs individual case then please contact us.Medication:The Danswer Camp staff are not authorised to administer prescribed medication to achild, eg, inhaler or antibiotics. Children will need to administer their own medication.All parent/Guardians are required to complete the medical details and by doing so, agree that in the unlikely event that the child will need any emergency medical treatment, the Danswer Camp Staff can call on emergency medical advice e.g. an ambulance, if required. It is essential that either the parent/guardian or someone with the correct medical background give adequate training in how to administer any medication that the child is required to take or will possibly need during the camp.Contacting Parents/ Guardian:Parents will be contacted in the event of serious injuries such as:• A broken bone or suspicion of a broken bone.• If the child is unable to participate due to illness.• If a child is seriously unhappy being at the Camp.• Bang to the head which may result in concussion.• Any situation resulting in hospital visit (we will endeavour to contact you before anyhospital visit).• Serious behaviour problem.HIV and AIDS ConfidentialityThere is no obligation to disclose information about an individual regarding HIV to our staff.Disclosure of information is not allowed without the consent of the individual or parent/guardian.Terms and Conditions:1) Payment and your signature constitutes your acceptance of these terms and conditions.2) Full payment or deposit must be made with the application form in order to reserve yourplace of the Camp.3) Any child registered with the Camp must be at least 5 years of age as of the firstday of Camp and must not be older than 14 years of age as of the last day of Camp.4) We only ask that you make a 10% deposit at the time of application (for a week Camp this would be £12.00). If you would prefer, you can make payment in full for the whole week.5) Cancellation policies;• If you cancel your childs place on the Camp 10 or more days prior to the first Camp datethen you are entitled to a full refund.• 9 or less days the deposit is not refundable.6) Neither the Danswer Camp or any of its staff nor persons involved with organisation acceptliability for the personal injury or death of any participant unless caused by negligence.Neither the Danswer Camp nor any of its staff nor persons involved in the camp acceptliability for any losses or additional expenses incurred by any participant due to injury orsickness whilst at the Camp.7) The Danswer Camp reserve the right to alter the timetable of the day but we aim to provide street dance, theatrical lessons and confidence building activities. The day will be divided between the three activities. Although the Danswer Camp will take every reasonable step to avoid injuries being suffered by its participants, there is always a risk of injury in activities in our programmes. By ticking the box on the application form you are confirming you have read and accepted the terms and conditions and are happy that the medical details have been completed to your full knowledge of your child.
